Leonidas Rompolis, Associate ProfessorDirector.

Leonidas is an Associate Professor of Finance at AUEB. Before AUEB he was a Lecturer at the University of Cyprus (CY). He holds a PhD in Finance from AUEB, an MSc in Statistics and Stochastic Models in Economics and Finance from Paris 7 and Paris 1 Universities and ENSAE, and a BSc in Mathematics from the National & Kapodistrian University of Athens. He has published in refereed academic journals such as: Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis, Journal of Banking and Finance, Journal of Financial Research, Journal of Futures Markets, Journal of Empirical Finance, Quantitative Finance, European Financial Management, International Journal of Forecasting, while his research was funded by European and Greek institutions.

Spyros Spyrou, Professor.

Spyros is a Professor of Finance at AUEB). Before AUEB he was a Lecturer at the University of Durham (UK), and Middlesex University Business School (UK). He holds a PhD in Finance and an MSc in Business Finance from Brunel University (UK), and a BSc in Economics from the National & Kapodistrian University of Athens. He has published in refereed academic journals such as: Journal of Banking & Finance, Journal of Economic Behavior & Organisation, Journal of Financial Stability, Journal of Business Finance & Accounting, European Financial Management, Journal of Futures Markets, Energy Economics, International Review of Financial Analysis. Spyros has served as the first director of the BeFin Lab from 2020 to 2023.

Dimitris Georgoutsos, Professor. 

Dimitris is a Professor of Finance, at AUEB. He received his diploma in Economics from University of Athens, his M.Sc. in Economics from London School of Economics, and his Ph.D. from University of Essex, UK. He has published in refereed academic journals such as: The Journal of International Money and Finance, Journal of Macroeconomics, European Economic Review, Journal of International Financial Markets, Institutions and Money, Journal of Economic Asymmetries, International Review of Financial Analysis, Journal of Banking and Finance, European Financial Management, European Journal of Finance, Journal of Forecasting.

Athanasios Episcopos, Associate Professor

Athanasios is an Associate Professor of Finance, at AUEB. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the State University of New York (SUNY) at Buffalo (USA), an M.A. in Economics from SUNY, Buffalo (USA), an M.B.A. from Roosevelt University, Chicago (USA), and a B.Sc. in Mathematics from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. He has published in refereed academic journals such as: Journal of Banking and Finance, Journal of Derivatives, Journal of International Financial Markets, Institutions and Money, Journal of Real Estate Finance and Economics, Quarterly Journal of Business and Economics, Quarterly Review of Economics and Finance, Economics Letters, International Review of Economics and Finance, and European Journal of Finance.

George Leledakis, Associate Professor

George is an Associate Professor of Finance, at AUEB. Formerly, he was Researcher in the Department of Research and Development at the Athens Stock Exchange and has held previous appointment as a Research Fellow at Warwick Business School of Warwick University. His holds a BSc in Business Administration from Athens University of Economics and Business, MA in Money, Banking and Finance, from Management School University of Sheffield and PhD in Finance from Warwick Business School. He has published in refereed academic journals such as: Financial Analysts Journal, Journal of Banking and Finance, European Journal of Operational Research, Journal of Business Finance and Accounting, Quantitative Finance, Economics Letters, The European Journal of Finance, International Review of Financial Analysis, among other journals.

Styliani Iris Krokida, PostDoc Fellow

Styliani holds a PhD in Finance from the Department of Accounting & Finance of the Athens University of Economics and Business (AUEB). Her primary field of interest is Finance with emphasis on Behavioral Finance issues, such as investors’ herding behavior. Her research has been published in international refereed academic journals, such as the International Review of Financial Analysis, and presented in international conferences.

Panagiota Makrichoriti, Birkbeck College , UK

Panagiota is currently a Lecturer at the Department of Management at Birkbeck College at the University of London. Before Birkbeck she was an Economist, in the Economic Research Division of Alpha Bank (Greece) and a Post-Doc Fellow at the Department of Accounting and Finance of the Athens University of Economics & Business (AUEB). She holds a PhD in Finance from the Department of Accounting & Finance of the Athens University of Economics and Business (AUEB). Her primary field of interest, lies on monetary policy, credit risk and investor sentiment. Her research has been published in international refereed academic journals such as Journal of Banking & Finance and Journal of Financial Stability, among others.

Konstantina Liosi, PhD Completed (2021); Lab Liaison

Konstantina obtained her PhD at the Department of Accounting & Finance, AUEB. She also holds and MSc in Accounting and Finance (AUEB) and a BSc in Banking and Financial Management from the University of Piraeus. Her PhD Thesis examined issues related to monetary policy and is supported by a full scholarship from the Foundation of State Scholarships (IKY). She has published at teh Journal of Economic Studies.

Chryssanthi Filippopoulou, PostDoc Fellow
Chryssanthi is currently a post-doc researcher at the Lab in the field of Banking and Finance, at the Department of Accounting & Finance of the Athens University of Economics and Business (AUEB), while she holds a PhD in Banking and Finance from the same Department of AUEB. Her research interests lie around Banking, Risk, Sovereign Crises, Early Warning Systems, Machine Learnings and Capital and Money Markets. Her research has been published in international refereed academic journals, such as Journal of Economic Behavior & Organization and Applied Economics Letters. She has been an Adjunct Professor of Banking and Finance at the University of Piraeus. She is currently working at the Greek Ministry of Citizen Protection.
